ADVIS PLP Cohort 2009-2010
Logistics for our Culminating Event

Date: Wednesday, April 21, 2010
Location: Germantown Academy
Time: 8:00 am - 3:15 pm
Attendees: All Year One and Year Two Team Team Members, Fellows, and Community Leaders

Directions to Germantown Academy:

Street Address for GPS: 340 Morris Road, Fort Washington, PA 19034

Germantown Academy is located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania; approximately 15 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The school has entrances on both Lafayette Avenue and Morris Road. There is easy access off the PA Turnpike, exit 339. Click here for detailed driving directions.
Traffic on the turnpike can be unpredictable and is usually heavy during rush hour, so please allow plenty of time to travel. We ask that everyone carpool from your schools whenever possible. We have approximately 150 people attending this event, and we do not have that many parking spaces so please work out carpooling details with your school teams, even if coming a shorter distance. When you arrive on GA's campus, follow the ADVIS signs for parking and for entrance to the school facilities. We will be in the field house again, where we were in September, and parking will also be in the location where we parked in the fall. Check-in, continental breakfast, and project set up will be from 8:00 -8:30 am, and the project showcase will be from 8:30 - 9:30.

Equipment Needs:
Every team member needs to bring their own laptop and power cord to this event. Your laptop will need wireless capability. GA is equipped with wireless Internet access, and we will have tech support available to assist you in getting on their wireless system. GA will have a laptop cart there for anyone who has difficulties getting connectivity, but contact Stacey Kley at ADVIS in advance if you know you will need one. You may bring either a PC or a MAC; either is fine. We will post a wireless link here just prior to the event so that you can load it on your laptop if you wish.

Network Access at GA:
Login Information: The wireless network to connect to on campus is called "GA GUEST." Once you connect, accept the certificate warnings. You will then be redirected to an authentication page where you enter your email address. If possible, please save your team projects to your pc or mac.

Food:
Germantown Academy will provide continental breakfast for everyone, including coffee, juice, etc. Luncheon is provided as a part of this program, and will also be prepared by the wonderful food service staff at GA. We will have a vegetarian option available for lunch, which you do not need to order ahead.

If you have any questions about this f2f event, please contact Stacey Kley at ADVIS (skley@advis.org or call 610-527-0130).
